Traditional Advertising

Like most things, the truth is always somewhere near the middle.

And this certainly holds true for traditional advertising.

No, traditional advertising is not dead, but it’s certainly changed, and will continue to evolve.

Want proof?

Look at newspapers, if you’ve followed their history, they’ve died more times than anyone can remember. Of course online advertising, and websites were the latest predictions of newspaper demise. And, yes, some newspapers which I enjoyed and read regularly did go out of business, and their inability to adapt to the changing marketplace is the reason why.

As a business owner, here’s how you should pick where to advertise, and where not to spend your money:

Are your customers there, and is it priced so I can get a return on my investment, if the answer is yes it’s a potential advertising source, if the answer is no, then don’t spend your money there.

You, as a business owner need to measure, learn and evaluate your market. You can be extremely successful using traditional advertising methods like:

Billboard

Newspaper

Radio

Television

People still regularly consume these media, and I will share with you the ways to use these sources. But, never lose sight of the fact that these are viable sources, assuming your customers, or your future customers consume them regularly.

Used properly, traditional media is valuable!
